Abstract
The evidence is presented that the hypothesis about the possibility of generating methane from the fringe of coal matter during unloading of the coal seam, including the manifestation of dangerous gas-dynamic phenomena such as sudden emissions of coal and gas in coal mines, is not confirmed by experiments on sorption-desorption of methane, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, helium and argon by natural coals, nor by data on sudden emissions of coal and carbon dioxide, coal and nitrogen that occurred in Russia and abroad.
Keywords
