Abstract

This article examines the phenomenon of networking as a key trend in the transformation of regional economic space. It argues that traditional hierarchical governance models are giving way to network structures formed between enterprises, government agencies, and scientific and educational organizations. Networking is a process that involves the formation of a network with its nodes and connections, necessary for achieving the goals of network participants. The aim of this work is to develop a methodological approach to predicting the effects and assessing the effectiveness of spatial and network interactions between actors in regional socio-economic systems. This article presents a framework for the networking process that not only describes the formation of connections but also reveals it as a nonlinear, evolutionary process, progressing through phases from initiation to self-organization and emergence. This constitutes a significant contribution to theory. The authors propose a triad of tools – network analysis, agent-based modeling, and system dynamics modeling – that enables them to address complementary tasks: diagnosing the current structure of connections, simulating the behavior of actors in various scenarios, and assessing long-term macro-effects.
