EVOLUTION OF DEVELOPING THE OSINNIKOVSKOE COKING COAL DEPOSIT: GEOLOGICAL EXPLORATION, MINING, SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC PROGRESS (18TH -21ST CENTURIES)

Аннотация

This article presents a comprehensive historical and technological research into the development of the Osinnikovsky coal basin: from the first references in the 18th century to the present-day introduction of the automated gas monitoring and control systems. Analysis of archive documents, field reports from the Telbess Office, and oral recollections by participants of the geological exploration expeditions helped to reconstruct the key stages in the development of the deposit, i.e. the start of coal mining at the Tomsk Ironworks, systematic surveys by Kopikuz and Telbess Office, large-scale industrialization in the 1930s and 1940s, mobilization of labor resources during the Great Patriotic War and subsequent post-war recovery, transition to an open joint-stock company, and modernization of the production facilities in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Factors of sustainable growth have been identified, including the synergy of scientific and technical innovations as well as adaptation of local personnel to extreme mining and climatic conditions. Particular attention is paid to the lessons learned from the 2013 accident and the prospects for digital technologies to forecast mining risks. The study justifies the need for further implementation of high-temperature coke cleaning methods and upgrading of digital platforms to improve the safety and efficiency of deep mining in the Osinnikovsky Basin.
