Abstract

Increasing productivity in the mining industry requires more complicated working methods, which leads to more complex process chains, which increases the risk of accidents and emergencies at enterprises. Establishing the objective causes of emergencies and incidents is an important factor. Special commissions are required to conduct technical investigations into the causes of accidents at hazardous production facilities. One such commission is created in LLC «Siberian Coal Company», which has established continuously operating Centers of Independent Expertise (CEEs) for the investigation of accidents and incidents at hazardous production facilities. The Center’s activities are aimed at identifying the objective causes of accidents and incidents. The CEEs develop measures and strategies aimed at preventing similar incidents in the future. The CEEs structure ensures the involvement of specialists tailored to the specific tasks being performed and consists of department heads, in-house expert groups, and external specialized laboratories.
