Abstract

The South Yakutsk coal basin is one of the recently discovered coal granaries of Russia, which is predetermined by its remoteness from the European part of Russia and the difficult climate. However, the development of science and technology has made it possible to start developing remote coal deposits, whose products are particularly in demand in the metallurgical, chemical and energy industries. Therefore, «Miner's Day» is a national holiday, especially in the Far East. Close attention to the South Yakutsk coal basin is determined by the fact that it is currently developing dynamically. However, the potential remains for deepening infrastructural transformations in order to form an «intersectoral territorial production complex» in which coal burning energy is crucial. In addition, on the professional holiday of miners, it is appropriate to recall the heroic traditions of coal industry collectives, especially in the year of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
