Abstract

This paper investigates the impact of underground mining operations at mines on atmospheric air pollution. The purpose of the work is to analyse the emissions of hazardous and harmful pollutants from various sources of the mine and to identify the most harmful sources. The article presents an analysis of the state of atmospheric air in the Kemerovo region and considers the results of air quality testing at the site of boiler houses and heat networks of the Alexievskaya mine. Based on the inventory data of the enterprise for 2020, it is established that the greatest contribution to pollution is made by the section of boiler houses and heat networks, as well as methane emissions. It is shown that the share of boiler and heat network section is about 10% of the total emissions, and methane emissions – about 99%. It is determined that the concentrations of sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxides in the flue gases of the boiler house exceed the permissible values by 1.5-2 times. The use of Venturi scrubber for cleaning of boiler house emissions is proposed, which, according to calculations, will allow to reduce emissions of solid particles by 90-95% and emissions of sulphur dioxide by 70-80%. The need to introduce technologies for mine degassing and utilisation of extracted methane is emphasised.
