Abstract

The article provides a quantitative assessment of the efficiency of production factor allocation in the coal industry companies based on the industry concentration and resource allocation ratios. The unique resource portfolios of coal companies differ significantly, while the gap between the values of their key performance and efficiency indicators is moderate. A heterogeneity of resource allocation in the coal industry companies has been established. It has been revealed that a high degree of market allocation of the coal industry ensures economic efficiency through healthy competition. High economic performance confirms that allocation of the production factors in the industry is close to the optimum.
