COAL EXPORT DESTINATIONS IN RUSSIA: OPPORTUNITIES FOR COOPERATION WITH CHINA

Abstract

The study describes the directions of coal exports in Russia in modern conditions characterized by anti-Russian sanctions, uncertainty of the macroeconomic environment, and geopolitical problems. The analysis of trends in the consumption of energy resources in China is carried out, the importance of coal in the energy balance of this state is highlighted. The features of the modern period of development of the Russian coal industry are considered, the role of exports to China for the competitiveness of Russian mining companies is substantiated. The problems of the Russian coal industry have been identified: equipment, port and railway infrastructure. It is proved that the largest regions and manufacturing companies in Russia were able to adapt to the current sanctions conditions. As a result, along with the growth of production, the capitalization of successful companies is growing. To solve the existing problems and increase competitiveness, it is necessary to improve the port and railway infrastructure, update fixed assets, improve mining and sorting equipment.
