TRADE RELATIONS BETWEEN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION AND ASIA IN THE COAL INDUSTRY
Abstract
The article investigates the current state of trade relations in the coal industry between the Russian Federation and Asian countries. The objective of the study is to identify the main trends and factors determining the efficiency of these relations with account of changes in the geopolitical situation and the impact of sanctions. The work uses the methods of statistical analysis and comparative study of data on export volumes and changes in transportation logistics. The analysis revealed key changes in the structure of Russian coal exports, including a significant increase in supplies to China and India. One of the important factors affecting export efficiency is the development of railway infrastructure in the Eastern polygon, which helps to increase throughput capacity and reduce transportation costs. However, the Russian Federation faces risks of such cooperation, including dependence on the Chinese market and fluctuations in coal prices. A conclusion is made that in order to maintain and increase exports, it is necessary to continue modernizing logistics routes and to seek new markets in Asia, given the declining demand for coal in the context of global transition to renewable energy.
