Abstract

The paper presents the results of studying burnt rock from coal mine dumps in order to assess the possibility of its use as an active mineral additive in cement production. Composition, structure and properties of the burnt rock have been studied using X-ray phase and crystal optical analysis as well as the electron microscopy methods. The results of laboratory tests to produce cement using the clinker from the Iskitimskiy cement plant with addition of burnt rock are presented and its advantages in comparison with the cement containing granulated blast-furnace slag are shown. Factors defining the increased activity of the burnt rock have been determined. It is shown that for conditions of the Iskitimcement JSC it is possible to obtain Grade CEM II /A cement of the first group that matches the requirements of GOST 30515-2013 and Grade CEM II /A-G32,5 B cement to comply with GOST 31108-2020.

Keywords
