The crisis phenomena in the domestic engineering industry significantly affected the pace of timely renewal of the mining equipment fleet, as a result, mining enterprises faced the problem of maintaining the operability of existing mining machines in a condition that allows them to achieve the planned targets. To solve this, a methodological approach was proposed that integrates the methods of modern optimal design of metal structures of excavators and innovative solutions related to the modernization of elements of mining machines, taking into account the influence of external factors, climatic and mining-geological conditions, the protection of personnel during the repair of metal structures of excavators.
