Abstract
The article examines the norms of labor legislation and by-laws of the Russian Federation on restricting the labor of women in underground work, including consideration of the norms on this issue that were previously in force, and pays attention to judicial practice. A conclusion is made about the prospects for maintaining existing restrictions on women, and the gaps in the law regarding the definition of the category “physical labor” and the associated problems of law enforcement are noted.
