Abstract

The article describes the technological priorities, key areas and objectives of the digitalization of the coal industry. The current level of digitalization in the Russian coal industry in comparison with the global one, demonstrating how effectively digitalization can be implemented in the coal industry, is given in the course of the study. Modern methodological tools for assessing the level of digital maturity of coal industry organizations are systematized. The degree of spread of digital technologies (digitalization depth) in the coal industry was revealed, and the results of calculations of the level of digital maturity of domestic coal mining companies were presented. The barriers to the implementation of the digital transformation potential of the Russian coal industry are substantiated, and measures for their elimination are proposed. The results can be used in the formation of proposals for the development of digitalization of coal mining companies, as well as monitoring the state and efficiency of the coal industry as a whole.
